Caroline Bateman designed this course after helping many students achieve more academically using technology.

There is a vast range of technology available to aid learning and improve grades. Most importantly, these tools give students self-confidence, something that dyslexic learners often lack.

THIS COURSE REALLY DOES HAVE THE POTENTIAL TO
CHANGE A CHILD’S LIFE

Why a typing course for “Academic Success”?

Most schools are not set up to meet the learning needs of all learners. Experience has taught me that dyslexic learners need the following to achieve their academic potential:

  • TECHNOLOGICAL LEARNING TOOLS

    If students cannot type, they cannot make the most of the transformative (and often free) learning tools.

  • EFFECTIVE PARENTAL SUPPORT

    Dyslexic students benefit greatly when parents support learning at home.

How does this course differ from other typing courses?

This unique course seamlessly combines the three vital components for academic success:

1.     TOUCH-TYPING

Once able to type, students then have access to effective learning technologies that can help them achieve more academically.

2.     TECHNOLOGY

We teach students how to use this technology and advise what they should use to make their lives easier and improve their grades. Knowing these skills motivates students to do the necessary practise.

3.     PARENTAL SUPPORT

Finally, we train parents to support their children’s learning effectively.

.

Summary of the course structure:

  • Starts with 4 half-day (morning) lessons;

  • Followed by 32 days of guided daily typing practice
    (20 minutes that can be done at any time);

  • Followed by 5 weekly webinars to;

    • teach vital learning skills,

    • reward progress,

    • motivate students to continue to practise.

  • Remote training is also provided for parents on how to effectively support learning at home.
